Amber Hopper


Amber Hopper serves GPS Industrial Engineering/Global Manufacturing Systems Manager at Spring Hill Manufacturing, General Motors in Spring Hill, TN. Prior to this position she was Business Manager for GPS and also had been a Sr. Industrial Engineer for Powertrain Engine Assembly at Spring Hill.  In her fourteen years at General Motors, Amber has held variety of vehicle and powertrain manufacturing positions such as Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Operations Supervisor, Global Supply Chain Engineer, Stamping Launch Coordinator, and Lead Industrial Engineer for the Small Gas Engine launch.  She has wide-ranging experience in vehicle interiors and exteriors, stamping operations, engine machining (blocks, cranks, heads) and engine assemblyAmber’s expertise is in continuous improvement, job layout and training, and throughput analysis. 

Amber received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee, and a Master of Engineering Management from Vanderbilt University.  She resides in Thompsons Station, Tennessee with her husband Will and their two girls, Sydney and Lauren. 

In addition, Amber has been very active in the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee organization for over six years, leading two troops and organizing camping and other service unit activities.
